ix Industrial™ Specified as a New CC-Link IE Interface by the CC-Link Partner Association
The CC-Link Partner Association, the Nagoya, Japan-based organization promoting the Ethernet-based integrated network CC-Link IE, has revised the CC-Link IE TSN Specifications for March 2023. It has added the Hirose Electric ix Industrial™ (10-pin rectangular connector compliant with IEC 61076-3-124) to the list.
This is the third time that ix Industrial has been added to the Industrial Ethernet specification, following GigE Vision and PROFINET. CC-Link users are for sure to have another reliable option for industrial Ethernet cables.
The ix Connector serves as interfaces between industrial robot devices, enabling all levels of operations from the Cloud to sensor or actuator, such as the connection between controller and servo drive, or the transmission between controller and sensor modules in robotic arms. The ix Connector can be used in factory automation, material handling systems, robotic applications, sensor and control systems, rail applications, etc.
It could further meets miniaturization through reducing 75% on size compared to the conventional RJ45 modular solutions , while supporting 10mm parallel pitch mounting. It further provides reliable transmission performances through Cat 6A transmission and 360° shielding with stable latch lock design.
The Hirose ix Industrial™ series is believed to be approaching other standard organization such as EtherCAT, Ethernet I/P. It is expected that by aligning with more industrial communication standards requested by potential customers, the ix industrial series will become more popular in industrial applications.

Hirose Electric introduced a new in-line jack variation, the IEC 61076-3-124 standard compliant, in response to the market's demand for space-saving wiring solutions.
This new addition to the ix Industrial™ product lineup makes highly flexible wiring possible and enables compatibility with other devices for modern industrial applications.

Support a broad range of cables
Range from 22 to 28 AWG and with an outer diameter of up to 1.55mm.
Designed to support panel mounting
The cover case can fit panel thicknesses of 1.5mm and 2.0mm, providing equipment designers with greater flexibility.
With easy attachment and removal of the panel, there's no need for any additional components.

Compact Size
The ix Industrial™ offers a size reduction of 75% compared to conventional RJ45 modular solutions. The receptacles allow for a parallel 10mm pitch mounting for daisy-chaining in compact units contributing to size reduction of end use products.
Latch Lock Design
Locking is completed simply by inserting the plug into the receptacle. The audio click indicates mating completion. The lock can be released easily by pushing on the plug buttons while pulling out.
High Durability
With a reliable locking mechanism that ensures secure mating and prevents accidental disconnection. It offers 5,000 mating cycles to ensure excellent durability and to withstand shock and vibration.
High Speed Transmission
The ix Industrial™ makes stable high speed transmission of Cat.5e (1Gbps) and Cat.6A (10Gbps) a reality.
Ideal for applications where fast and reliable data transmission is required.
High EMC Resistance
A 360 degree shield design prevents interference from external noise.
High EMC resistance provides safe and secure data transmission up to 10Gbps.
IEC standard compliant
The ix Industrial™ is compliant with the standard IEC 61076-3-124 covering 10-way shielded free and fixed connectors for the Ethernet Mating Interfaces.

ix Industrial™ Specified as a New PROFINET Interface by PROFIBUS User Organization
Hirose ix Industrial connector series has been specified as a new standard interface connector for Ethernet applications by PROFINET (Process Field Network). PROFINET is the leading communications standard based on Industrial Ethernet.
A new Guideline for PROFINET Version 5.0 has been released on the 29th June 2021 for which specifies the ix Industrial™ as a new standard interface connector for Ethernet applications. As a result, the guideline provides PROFINET users with definitive universal regulations for industrial cabling in Industrial equipment, systems, and plants.
This benefits manufacturers of Industrial applications that comply with PROFINET standards to develop smaller yet higher performing devices.
